The Department of Foreign Languages offers an online graduate program leading to a Master of Arts degree in Romance Languages, with an option in either French or Spanish. Within each option, a student may pursue a track in either Literature, or in Language, Culture and Civilization.

A number of Graduate Assistantships are available to qualified students, on a competitive basis. A maximum of 12 graduate transfer credits may be granted for graduate studies undertaken in another accredited institution of higher learning, at the graduate level.

Applicants enrolled in the final year of a bachelor's degree or international equivalent will be considered for conditional admission. Minimum GPA Requirements: 2.5 grade point average (GPA) on a 4-point scale for all undergraduate coursework, 3.0 grade point average (GPA) on a 4-point scale for all graduate coursework. TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language): Internet-based test score of 79 total or Computer-based test score of 550; The International English Language Testing System (IELTS): Overall band score of 6.5; PTE (Pearson Tests of English) Academic score of 58; IELP Intensive English Language Program: Satisfactory completion of the Intensive English Language Program at UNO; Minimum Scores on IELP Test: Listening Comprehension: 70; Grammar/Reading/Vocabulary: 63; Writing/Composition: 75.
