Kings上海国王国际高中本次的每周之星是11A金祺同学。在挺拔的身材背后，除了擅长各类运动之外，内心有着对于参加志愿者活动的执念。

This week, our King’s weekly star is 11A's student Thomas. Behind the height and talent at all kinds of sports, there is also a sense of participation in volunteer activities from this young student.

1、无理想，不公益

在他步入高中之后，志愿者等社会实践活动渐渐的成为了他生活中必不可少的一块拼图 。

After he entered high school, social practice activities such as volunteering gradually became an indispensable puzzle in his life.

炎炎夏日，他在迪士尼做志愿者，一次次与小朋友的互动，为游客指引探索童话世界的方向。

In the hot summer days, he had a volunteering job at Disney, interacting with children again and again, guiding tourists to explore the direction of fairy tale world.

迪士尼的企业文化深深地影响了他”奉献，是童话世界最美好的”。“踏出的**步，之所以精彩，是因为痛苦与快乐并存。”

Disney's corporation culture has deeply influenced his dedication, which is the best in the fairytale world. "The first step is the best, it is because of the coexistence of pain and pleasure.”

正是因为这样的初体验，为他打开了参加志愿服务的大门，他在志愿服务中的角色，完成了从旁观者到亲历者的转变。

It was specifically this experience which opened the door to volunteer service and his role in volunteerism that transformed him from the bystander to the active personal.

谈到收获，简单几个词:奉献、倾听、理解、沟通。生活中，他也信奉这样的理念。

When it comes to harvesting, simple words: dedication, listening, understanding, communication. In life, he also believed in such ideas.

2、做与兴趣结合的“时尚”公益

今年11月，他还和同学们前往爵士音乐节当志愿者，回顾整个过程，除了奉献本身带来的满足，更有接触爵士乐的新鲜感。

In November this year, he and his classmates volunteered at Jazz Festival in Shanghai. Looking back at the whole experience, and more of the novelty of jazz he felt true satisfaction and the dedication.

在流行音乐疯狂的今天，爵士乐的熏陶犹如一股清流，使浮躁的心灵沉淀下来。

In the crazy world of popular music today, jazz music is like a clear flow, making the impetuous mind to settle down.

“志愿者于他，远远大于活动本身，更多在于将其中的精髓注入了生活中。”

The volunteering is far greater than the activity itself, and more challenging - it catches the essence and turns it into life.

3、国际化视野，助力个人发展

学习生活中，倾听与理解是他比较好的伙伴，一年前，他曾拜访kings英国的London & Oxford校区“取经”。

In learning process, listening and understanding are his best companions. A year ago, he visited London & Oxford’s Campus of Kings UK where he learned how to "study".

在Kings London与老校长亲切的交谈中，听取了许多关于留学的建议，也获得了课程方面的指导，同时对于大学选择专业方面有了基本的认识。

From the friendly conversation with the old President, Kings London received many suggestions for studying abroad, and also a guidance about the courses. Meanwhile, he had a basic understanding of college majors.

日常的学习生活中，面对繁复，扎心的科目，首先，心态要稳住。

In daily study and life, he had to face what is complicated, he had to feel the heart of the subject. For that he learned firstly that the state of mind has to be stable.

其次对于老师的讲解要走心，课后再用适合的方法加以理解，化简为宜。

Secondly, in order to fully understand teacher's explanation, he learned that after the class he has to use the appropriate method for understand - simplification, which turned out to the be the most appropriate method.

4、激情不息，运动不懈

除此之外，作为kings篮球社的社长，有别于学习中的沉默寡言，球场上更多的需要他带给团队激情，与同学积极沟通。

In addition, as the President of Kings Basketball Club, he is different from the rest in learning so more efforts are made among the team in communicating with his classmates.

去年开学季与中澳的友谊赛，秋季带领篮球社出征”小飞人篮球赛”屈居亚军。

Last year, the opening season was a friendly match between “China and Australia school”, and during the autumn a new basketball club held a second matched called “Small flying men's basketball game”.

本学期，注入新鲜血液的他们，作为这只团队的掌舵者，成熟早已代替了那份青涩。假期里，他更加享受踏入球场，与年长的成年人同场竞技。

During this semester, they are going to be injected with “fresh blood”. During the holidays, he enjoyed stepping onto the pitch and competing with older adults.

“强大的对手是进步的源动力”他曾参加Adidas的“夏练国度”，作为最年轻的选手，过程浓缩为一个“拼”。

"A strong opponent is the source of progress." He has participated in the “work practice during the summer" in Adidas, which has been considered as a "spell" among the youngest players. "Basketball,"

于他而言篮球，是一项运动，更是一种交流方式;比赛，不只是关于个体，而是整个团队。

He said, the sport and the way of communicating. The game is not just about the individual, but about the whole team”.

作为进入倒计时11年级的同学，备战雅思，A-level的同时，他也珍惜与即将分道扬镳的伙伴相处的时光。对于即将开启的未来，00后的他选择相信自我。

As a member of the 11th grade countdown, preparing for the IELTS tests and A - level, he also cherished the time spent with the partners who are about to split up. For the coming future, he chose to believe in himself.

1、问：请问你，为什么会去做志愿者，做志愿者的动力又是什么?

Q：Why do you volunteer, and what gives you the motivation for volunteering?

答：因为参加志愿者活动可以丰富我的课余时光，在奉献的同时感受活动本身的乐趣!

A：Volunteering activities enrich my spare time, and I feel the amusement during this activities.

2、问：在拜访他国的过程中，有没有什么有趣的经历可以与大家分享呢?

Q：Do you have any interesting experiences to share with other students from your time spent abroad?

答：在不同的活动中，可以与外国人交流，体验不同的文化底蕴。

A：During the different activities you can communicate with foreigners and experience different cultural deposits.

3、问：作为本届篮球社社长，你有什么经验要(可以)传给下一届吗?

Q：As the President of this basketball club, have you ever had any chance to pass the information to the next session’s participants?

答：经验其实也没有多少，只是希望下一届社长能有一个良好的态度，要有责任感，擅长表达自己，能让团队更有凝聚力，能够处理好活动于学习之间的关系。

A：Experience in this field is not vast, and I just hope that the next President will have the good attitude, sense of responsibility, good skills to express himself, ability to make the team more cohesive, and be able to handle the relationship between the active learning and practice.

4、问：在自身的学习中有发现自身有哪些不足吗?

Q：Have you found any deficiencies in your own learning?

答：在某些科目上面会有学习能力较弱的体现，面对困难，时而会有松懈。

A：In some subjects, I have a weak learning ability, so I am occasionally facing difficulties and feeling relaxed at the same time.

5、问：对于如今面对的学习压力，你有什么想说的?

Q：What do you want to say about the stress of learning that you are facing today?

答：认为面对考试不能慌，心态要好，学习中要有计划，一步一步，直至达到目标。

A：It's better to be in a good mood and to have a plan, step by step, until you reach your goal.

6、问：马上就要毕业的你有什么话想对学弟学妹说的吗?

Q：Are you going to graduate soon? Do you have anything to say to your junior students?

答：在课堂中尽量以自己为主，让自己学的更好。走出课堂，希望大家能融入班级中，多与大家交流保持良好的关系，活动组织方面更加积极。

A：Try to be yourself and learn more during the class.Apart from school, try joining some club and keeping good relationship with everyone.
