The UNCW Department of Anthropology offers a BA degree in Anthropology, with a focus on three subfields of Anthropology: Archaeology, Cultural Anthropology, and Physical/Biological Anthropology.

Archaeology Concentration

Archaeology is the study of human culture by examining remains of our past. All anthropology majors at UNCW are required to take ANT 207 Archaeology and ANTL Archaeology Lab. We also offer a range of archaeology courses and experiential learning opportunities, such as internships, field schools, and independent study opportunities.

Cultural Anthropology Concentration

Cultural Anthropology is the study of human culture. It involves such topics as traditional societies, gender roles, indigenous rights, human rights, public health, refugees, museum studies, and shamanism.

Physical and Biological Anthropology Concentration

Physical & Biological Anthropology is the study of the physical development of the human species. It involves such topics as genetics, human osteology, evolution, primatology, and forensics.

为来自中国的学生设计 Applicants must have a GPA of 2.5 or higher on a U.S. 4.0 scale to be considered for admission. Students must have completed the high school. English Proficiency: Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) - minimum score of 71 on the Internet-based exam. International English Language Testing System (IELTS) - minimum score of 6.0 on the academic module. Duolingo English Test (DET) - minimum score of 54, Pearson PTE - minimum score 54.
