专业概况

在这里学什么？ **Course overview**Archaeology covers the entire span of human history - from the rise of early civilisations and empires to the development of the modern world. We are constantly making new discoveries that change our understanding of past human societies. Our research is helping us to understand current issues such as environmental change, and food sustainability.On this course you will combine approaches from both the humanities and the sciences, gaining skills in our specialist research laboratories and during fieldwork. Using your foundation knowledge from year one, you will select specialisms to complete your degree. Choose from modules on human bones or medieval castles for instance. You will also undertake a fieldwork placement, either in the UK or overseas.Throughout, you will gain an understanding of archaeological theory and practice, and a broad view of human culture from around the world. You will also be able to complement your archaeological knowledge with modules in other subjects, such as history of art, languages, and theology.No prior experience of archaeology is required. This course is also available with a Foundation Year. You may also combine Archaeology with Ancient History, Classical Civilisation, Geography, or History in our joint honours programme, or study alongside multiple disciplines in our BA Liberal Arts.

为来自中国的学生设计 Students who have completed 12 years of education (Gao Zhong) in China must complete a Foundation Programme or GCE A Level (or equivalent) and demonstrate proficiency in English language in order to progress on to an undergraduate degree programme. Students who successfully complete the Foundation Certificate, obtaining the grades required for their chosen degree programme, will be guaranteed admission to the University. Students need to have IELTS 6.0 with minimum 5.5 in each component.
