专业概况

在这里学什么？ How do human societies develop, and what lessons can we learn to protect our future? Geography and archaeology are natural partners for exploring these issues. You will develop theoretical perspectives, with scientific applications.You will study the relationship between people, landscape and the changing environment. The time span is from the origins of early humans to the present day. Choose your modules to specialise, or maintain a breadth of interests.Your technical training in geography includes:- cartography- statistical techniques- computingYour skills training in archaeology includes:- archaeological and research methods- environmental archaeology- ancient technologies- the history of archaeological thoughtThis course includes 10 days of archaeological fieldwork. You will participate in an approved excavation project, or a related placement, in the UK or overseas. Your technical training will include cartography, statistical techniques and computing.As a joint honours student, you will benefit from skills development and assessment methods from both subjects. Mostly, each subject is taught separately, but you will find uniting themes.No prior experience of archaeology is required.

为来自中国的学生设计 Students who have completed 12 years of education (Gao Zhong) in China must complete a Foundation Programme or GCE A Level (or equivalent) and demonstrate proficiency in English language in order to progress on to an undergraduate degree programme. Students who successfully complete the Foundation Certificate, obtaining the grades required for their chosen degree programme, will be guaranteed admission to the University. Students need to have IELTS 6.0 with minimum 5.5 in each component.
