专业概况

在这里学什么？

Political science majors tackle the public issues of the day as well as the timeless issues of government, public policy and the political process. The Department of Political Science offers a BA in political science and a master's degree in public administration (MPA). Our courses cover U.S. politics and public administration, public law, comparative politics, international relations and political theory. Our extensive internship program includes funded internships in Sacramento and Washington, D.C., and our students have the opportunity to participate in a Model United Nations and the honor society Pi Sigma Alpha. We arrange annual trips to the state capital and state Supreme Court and campus presentations by guest speakers who range from Holocaust survivors to U. S. Senators. We prepare our graduates for advanced graduate study as well as careers in law, teaching, government service, legislative staffing, political consulting, interest group representation, international relations and other fields.

The BA - Political Science provides students with an understanding of politics and the political process and prepares them for their lifelong responsibilities as citizens, as well as furthering their skills in critical analysis and communication. The major in political science may lead to a wide variety of careers, including teaching, the law, business and public service.

为来自中国的学生设计 Students should have earn a minimum of a 3.0 grade point average (GPA) or an average of "B" grades and Successfully complete three years of college preparatory mathematics with a minimum grade of "C-" or better. English Language requirements: Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) IBT score 61; Paper based score 500; IELTS score 6.0; PTE academic score 44.
