专业概况

在这里学什么？ Statisticians play a vital role in many sectors. They work in global business, data analysis, artificial intelligence and healthcare modelling.You'll study concepts and techniques for modelling and get hands-on experience of data analysis. We'll develop a framework to help understand the logic of uncertainty. You will explore random variables and surrounding topics.Put the statistical and probability theory you've learnt into practice. Working in our computer labs will give you hands-on experience of using statistical software.Our lecturers are experts in advanced mathematical techniques. You will also develop wider skills in analytical thinking, problem-solving and high level numeracy.- Core modules will build on your understanding of the fundamentals of mathematics and statistics- Freedom to choose from a wide range of exciting optional modules- Accredited by the Institute of Mathematics and its Applications- Expand your skills with a work placement or semester abroadYou'll be supported by like-minded students through our peer mentoring programme. Senior students will provide help through regular small group sessions on a range of important first-year topics.You can also spend time overseas through the university's study abroad programme.

为来自中国的学生设计 Students who have completed 12 years of education (Gao Zhong) in China must complete a Foundation Programme or GCE A Level (or equivalent) and demonstrate proficiency in English language in order to progress on to an undergraduate degree programme. Students who successfully complete the Foundation Certificate, obtaining the grades required for their chosen degree programme, will be guaranteed admission to the University. Students need to have IELTS 6.0 with minimum 5.5 in each component.
