专业概况
在这里学什么?Graduates from the Department of Health Policy and Management (HPM) are poised for careers in health care management, health economics and population health management. From making the delivery of health care safer and more efficient to expanding health insurance coverage, our graduates are trained to make sense of today’s complex environment. We are constantly looking for ways to eliminate disparities in access and care, while providing economic evaluations to the government. Our unique location in South Florida allows us to incorporate diversity into our research, which ensures our graduates develop into culturally sensitive leaders.
MPH in Health Policy and Management
MPH in Health Policy and Management provides students with core skills in management, policy analysis, public health economics and how to use evidence in decision-making. Students get specialized training in continuous quality improvement (with an option of obtaining the Health Care Professional Quality Improvement Certification), health system budget finance, and risk management in health systems (supporting getting the state of Florida health care risk management certification). Students completing this masters are positioned to start or advance careers in hospitals or health systems.
MPH in Health Policy and Management with a Concentration in Health Economics
A concentration in health economics provides MPH students with the skills to conduct economic analyses of public health and health care programs, policies and practices. Students will learn how to conduct cost-benefit and cost effectiveness analyses to support decision making.
For either curriculum students are required to complete 15 core MPH credits, 15 core HPM credits, 9 elective credits specific to the concentration, a 3 credit practicum and a 3 credit capstone course for a total of 45 credits.
