专业概况

在这里学什么？

The Bachelor of Music in Music Education degree is intended for students who have a passion for teaching music in a public or private school setting. Students study instrumental, vocal, and general music pedagogy for grades kindergarten through 12, while gaining background in music theory, history, conducting, and performance. Applied learning experiences provide students with the necessary skills to prepare them for their teaching career and qualifies the student for the North Carolina Class A teaching license. Students completing this degree have successfully found employment in education and other music-related fields, as well as admission to graduate school.

Oral Communication Requirement:

To satisfy the oral communication requirement for the B.A. in Music and the B.M. in Music Education a student must successfully complete MUS 285 or MUS 496.

Computer Requirement:

To satisfy the computer requirement for the B.A. degree in Music and the B.M. in Music Education a student must successfully complete MUS 110.

Applied Learning Requirement:

To satisfy the applied learning requirement for the B.A. degree in Music and the B.M. degree in Music Education a student must successfully complete either EDN 409 or MUS 493 or MUS 496.

Bachelor of Music in Music Education: 82-85 hours

Music Core Requirements: 28 hours (see above).

Performance Core: 8 hours.

Concentration: 18-21 hours in music.

Watson College of Education: 22 hours.

FNA 101 and PSY 105 as University Studies electives.

为来自中国的学生设计 Applicants must have a GPA of 2.5 or higher on a U.S. 4.0 scale to be considered for admission. Students must have completed the high school. English Proficiency: Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) - minimum score of 71 on the Internet-based exam. International English Language Testing System (IELTS) - minimum score of 6.0 on the academic module. Duolingo English Test (DET) - minimum score of 54, Pearson PTE - minimum score 54.
