专业概况

在这里学什么？ Philosophy can be a transformative subject. It is worth doing for its own sake and for its ability to shape lives, institutions, and society.Philosophy is fed by curiosity and wonder, anger and injustice, confusion and a desire to make sense of ourselves and the world.Our core curriculum covers traditional areas such as ethics, reasoning and logic.We also offer an unusually wide range of optional modules. You can:- explore crime and justice, race and gender, politics and religion- examine emerging areas like environmental and social philosophy- discover the Western, Indian and Chinese traditionsPhilosophy trains you to argue persuasively and think deeply. But we go further than this. Our curriculum includes the unique Communicating Philosophy module. Teaching involves professionals such as lawyers and journalists. They will help you apply your philosophical skills to a range of careers.This course is also available with a Foundation Year. You may also combine it with Politics and Economics, Religion and Ethics, Theology, Economics, Psychology, Classical Civilisation, English, Music, French and Physics in our joint honours programme, or study alongside multiple disciplines in our BA Liberal Arts.No prior academic experience of philosophy is required.

中国学生入学要求

为来自中国的学生设计 Students who have completed 12 years of education (Gao Zhong) in China must complete a Foundation Programme or GCE A Level (or equivalent) and demonstrate proficiency in English language in order to progress on to an undergraduate degree programme. Students who successfully complete the Foundation Certificate, obtaining the grades required for their chosen degree programme, will be guaranteed admission to the University. Students need to have IELTS 6.0 with minimum 5.5 in each component.
