Overview

Learn how to make a difference in education.

La Trobe's Master of Education helps you explore issues related to education for social justice, communication for educational purposes and the issues involved in designing diverse educational programs.

From July, these terms will commence every six weeks, so international students can begin studying online now and be ready to join us on campus once borders reopen.

You'll learn:

Key issues in education

Learn about the issues shaping how, why, where and for whom educational programs are designed.

Motivations

Understand the reasons behind different ways of thinking and acting in education.

Cultural contexts

Appreciate the diverse people and skill sets involved in education around the world.

Research

Become familiar with understanding and conducting educational research.

The qualification awarded on graduation is recognized in the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) as Level 9.

Career Outcomes

You'll be well-equipped to find work in contexts as varied as classroom teaching and organizational leadership, community development, workplace mentoring, industry innovation and change as well as online and offline social networks. Jobs may include:

Lead teacher

• Teach in the classroom, lead your department, and manage students and stakeholders.
• Contribute to a positive environment, design curriculum and deliver top quality learning outcomes for your students.

Adult educator

• Provide adult learners with the essential knowledge and skills they need to improve their lives.
• Design and implement curriculum, liaise with management and deliver high quality learning outcomes.

Learning designer

Use strategic thinking to lead the design and implementation of educational programs.

Project manager

Be responsible for the oversight and delivery of projects related to education.

University lecturer or tutor

Use your knowledge and experience to provide invaluable guidance to students on their journey to becoming competent, professional and well-rounded educators.

为来自中国的学生设计 Applicants must have an Australian Bachelor's degree with Honours at H1 or H2A level, or approved international equivalent.If you have Honours at H2B level, or equivalent, you may be considered in some instances. English Language Requirements: IELTS (Academic): Overall score of 6.5 with no band less than 6.0; TOEFL Paper-based Test - Overall score of 575 with 5 or better in TWE (Test of Written English); TOEFL Internet based (iBT): Overall 79 with 13 in Reading, 12 in Listening, 18 in Speaking and 21 in Writing, Pearson Test of English (Academic) (PTE): Overall score of 58 with no communicative skill score less than 50, Cambridge Certificate of Advanced English (CAE): 176 with no less than 169 in any component, Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE): 176 with no less than 169 in any component.
