Overview

Human resources strategies shape organisations around the world. La Trobe's Bachelor of Business (Human Resource Management) gives you the hands-on skills to plan, inform and implement strategies across corporate, government and not-for-profit sectors. You'll study in a flexible, multidisciplinary environment that lets you tailor your studies to your career interests.

Develop a solid foundation in business by exploring key areas such as accounting, economics, law, analytics and digital business. Graduate with the industry knowledge, skills and experience to start a global human resources career.

The qualification awarded on graduation is recognised in the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) as Level 7.

Career Outcomes

Graduates will have the skills and knowledge to find employment in a range of roles, including:

HR manager

Devise employment policies and procedures and oversee employee rewards and recognition programs.

HR business partner

Work with an organization’s senior leadership to develop their HR agenda and support their organizational goals.

Recruitment consultant

Work with employers to recruit staff for their vacancies and assist individuals with finding suitable employment.

Professional recognition

The Bachelor of Business (Human Resource Management) is accredited by the Australian Human Resources Institute (AHRI). Graduates may apply for membership with AHRI. Membership may require an application to the professional body and may have additional or ongoing requirements beyond the completion of the degree. English Language Requirements: IELTS (Academic): Overall score of 6.0 with no band less than 6.0; TOEFL Paper-based Test - Overall score of 550 with 5 or better in TWE (Test of Written English); TOEFL Internet based (iBT): Overall 64 with 13 in Reading, 12 in Listening, 18 in Speaking and 21 in Writing, Pearson Test of English (Academic) (PTE): Overall score of 50 with no communicative skill score less than 50, Cambridge Certificate of Advanced English (CAE): 169 with no less than 169 in any component, Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE): 169 with no less than 169 in any component.
