A dynamic and intellectually stimulating world awaits! Immerse yourself in a unique and multidisciplinary approach to innovative thinking in design practice while acquiring fully accredited legal know-how with UC’s Bachelor of Laws/Bachelor of Design double degree.

Depending on your specialisation, you’ll create functional, beautiful, intuitive and accessible objects, websites, apps, publications, interiors and landscapes and discover how design operates in our rapidly changing, technologically innovative and socially conscious world.

UC’s work placements and short-term overseas study options will help you find plenty of inspiration – and all the while you’ll be exploring the law (contract, constitutional and more) and developing the abilities of a socially and ethically responsible legal practitioner.

What’s more, UC’s Bachelor of Laws/Bachelor of Design allows students to fast-track their studies during winter term and, in their final year, begin their Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice or Master of Design Strategies.

Combine a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Design at UC and you will:

gain a fully accredited law degree and a broad theoretical, historical and technical knowledge of the discipline of law, suitable for entering the legal profession, becoming an advocate, or undertaking related careers identify the different stages of the ‘design for manufacture’ process gain the knowledge and skills necessary to launch your own interaction design business or seek employment within global markets across all industries. select appropriate methods, materials and processes for designing and prototyping products employ innovative use of different visual and emerging media types across print, screen and packaging develop effective design solutions for specific audiences select appropriate methods, materials and processes for designing and prototyping products learn to apply advanced 2D and 3D digital design technologies acquire image-making expertise and the ability to develop visual design artefacts using a range of analogue and digital media.

Career opportunities

Landscape architect, product designer, set designer, urban planner, graphic designer and lawyer…the career choices are virtually endless with UC’s Bachelor of Laws/Bachelor of Design. Graduates will be able to explore creative and/or legal careers in:

landscape and interior architecture firms film and television industry and the theatre urban planning or industrial design practices digital teams or creative agencies furniture design companies manufacturers law firms private legal or creative practice the community and public sectors, including as in-house counsel, policy advisor, legislative drafting and law reform and community legal work the not-for-profit sector, including professional advocacy education and research.

为来自中国的学生设计 Applicants must have successful completion of Australian Year 12 qualification or equivalent. International Baccalaureate - 26, 31. IELTS Academic: 6.0 overall with no band below 6.0; TOEFL iBT: Overall score of 60 with: R: 13; L: 12; S: 18; W: 21; Pearson Test of Academic English: 50 with no skill score below 50; Cambridge English Scale: 169 with no sub-score below 169; Occupational English Test: No grade lowers than 'C' in any of the sub-tests.
