Our Professional Science Master's in Forensic Science is an innovative program that enables students to pursue advanced training in the forensic sciences while developing highly valued management skills.

• Individuals pursuing an exciting and growing career in areas like: DNA/biology, forensic toxicology, medicolegal death investigations, seized drugs, explosives, fire debris, gunshot residues, document examinations, forensic geology, wildlife forensics and trace evidence

The program provides a cutting-edge online curriculum in forensic science with coursework in management that is designed to provide professional development opportunities. Students will have access to state-of-the art laboratory instrumentation and research facilities through their participation in hands-on workshops, taught by expert faculty. The program's final project is a “real-world” internship in a private- or public-sector forensic science enterprise.

The Professional Science Master's in Forensic Science requires a total of 32 credits, including 23 credits focused on technical forensic science content. The remaining 9 credits, focused on professional business content, are provided online by FIU's College of Business Administration. Assessments of student learning for online courses will be administered according to the policy at each respective department/school. Completion of an internship and an earned grade of "B" or better in all classes is required. Students are required to travel to the Modesto A. Maidique Campus for participation in the summer workshop.
