在这里学什么?A bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems (MIS) prepares you for a multitude of career paths, including IT consultant, business analyst, e-commerce systems developer, and database specialist.
MIS is about finding answers and leveraging information and communication technology within an organization to increase business value and profits. MIS professionals are in high demand. In fact, the U.S. Labor Department predicts that MIS jobs will continue to have one of the largest growth rates.
The Charlton College of Business’ MIS degree offers 2 study options that enable you to refine your MIS skills in your area of interest:
Technology and Management: advanced course work includes business intelligence and analytics, database design, enterprise systems, networking and security, systems analysis, management of an organization's information resources and project management
E-Commerce/Digital Business: advanced course work prepares you for success in the Internet economy through e-commerce development, social media marketing, systems analysis, small business management, and management of an.
In our MIS program you will learn how to: Employ core technologies such as database, enterprise systems, e-commerce, business analytics, and networking; Apply information technology to business problems by analyzing, designing, and implementing IT solutions; Manage IT systems throughout their life cycle.
MIS employs three related sets of skills: Technical skills such as database and business analytics to create a solution; System analysis and project management skills to design and manage the IT-based project; and A set of business courses including accounting, marketing, leadership, and teamwork to learn the language and theories of business -- that is, the environment that the IT.
Major in MIS
Our faculty will teach you the fundamental concepts and methodologies needed for information systems development and management. Most MIS courses include a team project, often with a client in the community, to practice the complexity in creating successful IT-based projects – that is, integrating the technical, organizational and people components.
MIS differs from computer science in its emphasis on the application of computer systems in a business setting. The MIS major offers a broad educational experience in business, computer applications, the humanities, and social sciences.
For the BS in Management Information Systems, you'll complete total 120 credit hours, consisting of University Studies courses (liberal arts), College Foundation requirements for business (e.g., accounting, finance, marketing, management, and operations), and a set of more advanced MIS required and elective classes. Transfer credits are evaluated individually for each applicant.
