WSU’s biological sciences field major offers a broad and flexible curriculum leading to a Bachelor of Arts (BA) or Bachelor of General Studies (BGS) degree. You’ll have access to research and internships, faculty who are active in their fields, and modern, well-equipped labs - preparing you for professional careers and graduate school.

Curriculum

A BA or BGS in biological sciences equips you with diverse knowledge in biology, in addition to exposure to a broad range of liberal arts courses based on your interests and career goals.

Careers

Graduates of the biological sciences program are frequently employed as technicians in labs involved in basic biological research or applied research. They work in fields such as the physical, engineering and life sciences, education, pharmaceutical manufacturing and scientific consulting.

Students interested in such interdisciplinary programs should consult with a departmental advisor early to design a curriculum with a focus in biological sciences that will satisfy Fairmount College requirements for these degrees.
