专业概况

The Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design focuses on visual communication through a variety of media, from traditional to contemporary, and prepares students to continue refining their skills well past the classroom.

The BFA in Graphic Design begins with a foundation of basic principles of composition, design, layout and essential typographic skills, expanding these in terms of client needs and user interactions. Projects cover a wide range of graphic forms, with special emphasis digital media. The degree emphasizes effective communication across a variety of media, including print, web and electronic.

Beyond fundamental courses, classes are taught in the Academy style, with students from all levels in the same class. This offers the opportunity to learn from your peers as well as more advanced students. With the departmental emphasis on the figurative, skills and techniques are stressed, providing the basis for creative exploration, as well as instilling the idea of continual learning. Classes are small, allowing for much interaction between students and the instructor, and students and their peers.

为来自中国的学生设计 All undergraduate programs require a minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale from high school (equivalent to a 78% on a **** scale). Other English Language Requirements: ELS: Completion of Level 112; Inlingua: Completion of ESL 300, 301, 302; Kaplan – Completion of Higher Intermediate level; Completion of English composition one at a US college or university; OR: COMPASS ESL Language Score 260+ (this option is only available for students in St. Louis who have applied to the university. The complimentary institutional test may only be taken one time for admission purposes).
