在这里学什么？ **Why you should study Animal Science and Management at WUC…**- Our BSc (Hons) Animal Science received **** overall student satisfaction in 2017.- You are able to specialise in a species of your choice.- We have over 250 species of animals on campus, including exotic, companion, farm animals and wildlife.- Our facilities include a farm, canine therapy centre, equine and animal centre and labs.- You will get specialist tours of zoos, farms and laboratories including the opportunity to visit Colchester Zoo and its Umphafa Nature Reserve in South Africa, The Aspinall Foundation, The Sanger Institute and The Animal Health Trust.- We are an educational member of the British and Irish Association of Zoos and Aquariums, an academic association member of the British Society of Animal Science and a link institution for the Universities Federation for Animal Welfare.- Our staff and students present at top national and international animal conferences and produce leading research.- We will provide you with the key skills, understanding, knowledge and practical experience to pursue your dream career. - Our courses combine a sound academic base in science with a range of practical husbandry and management skills.The animal science and animal management courses on offer here at Writtle University College provide our students with the required theory and practical skills necessary for a successful career within the animal industry. Our animal degrees have numerous option pathways that allow students to specialise within a specific field of interest such as Companion and Zoo Animals, Wildlife Conservation and Farm Livestock Production.On campus we have a number of resources which our animal students utilise as part of their course. The Titchmarsh Centre for Animal Studies, which includes a variety of different, species such as reptiles, exotic, aquatic and companion animals, is a central learning environment for our students. Our on-campus farm is also a key learning area for our livestock specialists. The Lordship Science Building provides laboratories which are all used to enhance the student experience and to ensure the knowledge gained in lectures is put into practice.Our highly qualified academic staff are very supportive towards our students and have a wealth of experience. Many of our teaching staff are also carrying out current and relevant research within their specialist fields.The UK animal industry is very diverse and offers a wide range of careers from animal unit management to high level veterinary research. There are also a large number of ancillary industries including government agencies, nutrition and pharmaceutical companies, marketing, retailing and journalism. Employers today are seeking well-trained, professionally qualified staff who are able to relate scientific theory to practical situations. Writtle courses combine a sound academic base in science with practical husbandry and management skills.Our highly employable graduates move onto a variety of exciting careers within the industry in organisations such as national and local animal charities and zoos, whilst others will aim to continue their education at Writtle by progressing onto a postgraduate course such as MSc Animal Welfare and Conservation or MSc Animal Livestock Production.
